Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Interested Parties:

Hello and welcome to the Sherry Lewis Responds blog. As you know, many people have been victimized by a vilification campaign being conducted by a lone blogger at mainewebreport.com. Friends and colleagues have expressed a desire to know the true facts. For those who haven’t asked, I felt it important that you hear from me as directly as possible, because I am a private citizen, not a public official nor a government contractor. Some of you have offered to speak, or write on our behalf. We are grateful.

Sadly, you have to stand up for yourself when you are attacked. This is why I have established my own blog so that those who care about “facts” can hear the truth. The blogosphere is like the Wild West; anything goes, lies can be published with wreckless abandon and there is no legal remediation. Reputations and livelihoods have been destroyed in the name of “Freedom of Speech”.

On this blog, I will respond to the most egregious allegations and observations - those that represent the most distorted versions of the facts. You can expect direct and constructive corrections, clarifications, and commentary.

My goal for this effort us to correct, clarify, and where appropriate, comment on the false allegations being made. By standing up in this public way, I hope to maintain your faith in all of us.

Folks, the silk gloves are off. This type of libelous slander heaped upon innocent and well-meaning people should be illegal.
